At New Age Bodywork, I want to ensure that your massage experience is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. To help you make the most of your massage, here's what you can expect before, during, and after your massage session:
Before
Before you arrive: Before your appointment time, you should have received an email with a brief intake and consent form. In order to make your check in process smooth, please fill this out before arriving to your massage appointment.
Hydrate: Be sure to stay hydrated before your appointment to ensure a relaxing and healing massage. I always recommend you drink a quart of water one hour before your appointment.
Arrival: It is always best to arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time to ensure you will get your full massage time. If you scheduled an in-home massage, I will be arriving 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time so I am able to setup my equipment before your appointment begins.
During
Consultation: When your appointment begins, I will greet you and conduct a brief consultation to discuss your goals for the session, any areas of concern, and any specific preferences you may have.
Preparation: You'll be given privacy to undress to your comfort level (some will remove all articles of clothing, some leave undergarments on, ect.) and lie down on the massage table under a sheet and blanket. I will knock before re-entering the room. Feel free to reach out if you have further questions regarding dressing down to your comfort level.
Communication: During the massage, feel free to communicate with me about pressure, comfort, or any concerns you may have. YOU are the top priority of the session.
Conclusion: Once the massage is over, I will inform you to slowly turn to your side and sit up once I have left the room. Assistance will be provided with this if necessary. Proceed to redress and exit the room once you are ready. I will greet you with a fresh glass of water in the hallway to help to rehydrate.
After
Hydration: It's important to drink plenty of water after your massage to help flush out toxins and rehydrate your body.
Relaxation: Take some time to relax and unwind after your massage. Avoid strenuous activities or heavy meals immediately afterward to allow your body to fully benefit from the session.
Self-Care: Pay attention to how your body feels after the massage. You may experience some soreness, especially if it's your first massage or if you had targeted work done on specific areas. Gentle stretching, warm Epsom salt baths, or applying heat packs can help alleviate any discomfort.
Feedback: I love feedback! If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback about your massage experience, please don't hesitate to share them. Your input helps me continually improve and grow as a massage practice.
